I am a freelance travel writer living in Antigua (that's an independent island country in the West Indies/Caribbean for all those who want to know "what part of Jamaica is that in?") We moved here in 2005 to fulfill our dream of retiring in the Caribbean, although only my husband is retired.

I recently completed the guidebook "Travel Adventures Leeward Islands," published by Hunter Publishing in August 2008. I've done extensive research on the Leewards--Anguilla, Antigua & Barbuda, Montserrat, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Barts, St. Martin, Saba and St. Eustatius--traveling to each and touring all the hotels and restaurants. So I'm fairly well versed on where to go to get the best travel experiences here.

Before moving to Antigua, we lived in the East Bay area of San Francisco, where I worked as a writer, marketing manager and editor for various publications and businesses.
